I really like the addition of the ‘Jordan Customs’ logo. It’s good to see a word in a ‘real-life’ context, and I suppose the pictorial representation would suit certain learning styles. While of course this must take a long time to produce, it may be a real benefit to many of us. Would it be possible to have more pictures/representations of words embedded in the flashcards?

  2. Tom,
You’re absolutely right! It’s v. time-consuming a. finding suitable images and b. inserting them for each card.
I am a visual teacher/learner myself and I do favour visuals linked with words + sounds. I will bear your suggestion in mind in future sets.
If you notice the eFlashcards set (Colours), it has images for each colour :

Many thanks for your thoughtful feedback.

    Hi Mourad,
I agree with tom that the picture’s idea looks great. However, if it’s very time consuming for you we could always try and find some images that suit the pictures and send you the links, though our arabic won’t be good enough yet.
In fact in future that might be a way to improve the website. If there was an area where users could upload links etc. that would improve the website aesthetically, but you yourself don’t have the time to find – delegating always helps.

  4. David,
That’s very thoughtful and kind of you to collaborate on improving the site and its resources. In fact, this site will only flourish with with collaboration, contributions and suggestions for improvement from everyone.

As for the images, you may have noticed that the space allocoated for them is very small and this maight be problematic for users to read.

I will produce further realia (i.e. real life items) e-Galleries for reading and recognition practice which include a variety of images from the Arab world very soon.

    All the best,
    M

I was having some trouble remembering the exact meanings of the frequency words. The flashcards and games have hopefully helped cement them in my mind إنشاء الله

  6. @Ruwayda: Glad to hear the flashcards are a useful vocabulary tool. All the best بالتوفيق إن شاء الله
